Happy September to all our families,
Can you believe our summer program is coming to an end? Our school year begins on September 7th. Just a reminder that we will be closed Friday the 3rd for our teacher in-service day and the following Monday, September 6th for Labor Day. We hope everyone has a wonderful 4 day weekend.
Kinderwood is in the final stages of finalizing our fall staff for each of the classrooms. Our regular dedicated teachers that you all know and love are still here but with the growing number of children that have come back, we need to add a few more staff members. We welcomed back Ms. Lexi and Ms. Rocio to Kinderwood . We will sending out an email with our roster of teachers. We do want to welcome Ms. Hollie to Kinderwood. She is the co-teacher with Ms. Michelle in our Pre-K class. Please introduce yourself when picking up your child. We are looking forward to a great year with our teachers and children.
Now that our school year is beginning on Tuesday, September 7th it is extremely important that your child is here before 9:00 a.m. I know that we constantly remind you, but your child needs to be separated from you and settled in their classroom by 9:00 a.m. to be ready to start the day. PLEASE follow this policy. When a child comes in after 9 am it starts a rippling effect in our classroom schedule and routines. We really appreciate your cooperation. Reminder to bring a sheet and blanket labeled with their name on it. Teachers will be sending home clothes to be switched out. All items brought to school need to have a name on it.
On Friday, September 24th, Kinderwood will post a “Back to School Night” video for room 5 parents. You will receive a packet beforehand so you will have it available as you watch the video. It will be Ms. Michelle, Ms. Hollie, Ms. Cheyenne, and Ms. Lee. During our back-to-school video, we will review the curriculum, classroom routines, homework, and any upcoming events. Lots of great information going out so be sure not to miss it.
We appreciate everything that our parents are doing to help keep our school COVID-free. It seems that a variant of Covid is going around again so we are still following all Covid guidelines. Remember, only one person in the family may go down the hall to pick up their child. All others must wait in the front office. Please sanitize, sign out and then pick up your child. Please remember to stay outside the classroom door for your child. We are not allowing anyone other than staff inside the classrooms. All siblings are to wait in the office. If your child is exhibiting any symptoms. They will be called to get picked up and a possible doctor’s note or covid test will be needed before returning to school. Please continue to be forthcoming with any possible exposures or positive tests. Thank you for keeping Kinderwood COVID free.
Last year we did see a rise in COVID cases during the holiday season. This year our Christmas and New Year Holiday schedule will be different. We are normally closed only on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. This year since 2 of the days fall on the weekend we will be closed Monday through Thursday New Year’s week. The new holiday schedule will be as follows. Kinderwood will be closed Friday, the 24th of December, and re-open again on Monday, January 3rd. This will give our teachers time to spend with their families this holiday season. There will be a notice coming out soon with this information and it will need to be signed. We will be requiring all families to follow all COVID traveling guidelines before returning to care. We need to have this in your file as it is a change in our original policy.
As always, we appreciate our families and all that you do for Kinderwood. Thank you for trusting us with your children.
Ms. Lee and Ms. Cheyenne
